Morning Session

  • 9:00-9:15- Arrival
  • 9:15-10:30- Welcome and Settling in
  • 10:30-11:00- Potty, hand-washing, snack
  • 11:00-11:45- Outdoor play
  • 11:45-12:00- Potty, Hand-washing, cool down
  • 12:00-12:30-Lunch
  • 12:30-1245- Clean-up, Independent reading time
  • 12:45-12:55- Group reading
  • 12:55-1:00-Adios song and departure

Flow of the ‘Little Learners’ Day

Welcome to Helping Hands “Little Learners” Program! You have chosen a program with a high level of safety and security for your family with a highly trained teacher ready to bring an exciting curriculum right to your living room! This is a wonderful choice for your family alone or you can bring in another family whom you wish to pod with.

A standard day consists of two session options – morning or afternoon, 2 days or 4 days a week.

Morning Session

Option 1: 3 hours (9:00am – 12:00pm) either part-time 2 days a week (Mon & Wed -or- Tue & Thu).

Option 2: Full-time 4 days a week (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu).

Afternoon Session

Option 1: Afternoon session: 3 hours (1:30am – 4:30pm) either part-time 2 days a week (Mon & Wed -or- Tue & Thu).

Option 2: Full-time 4 days a week (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu).

HHMS Teacher arrives at 9:00am to greet the student & family for the morning session or at 1:30pm for the afternoon session.

Each day consists of approximately 2 to 3 instructional times plus play time, snack time, songs, games, and all of the important health and safety protocols the HHMS staff are trained in such as CPR, First Aid, and 20-30 hours of continuing education.

Health and Safety Protocols

Responsibilities of Families:

  • All family members will take their temperature before the class begins and report to teacher
  • Student will wash hands at the beginning of each lesson, before eating, after all potty breaks,
    and at the end of the session
  • Family will provide a clean and tidy area for learning
  • Parent will call HHMS Director immediately if anyone in the family has a temp over 100
    degrees, has been around anyone recently diagnosed with CoVid or influenza, or has any
    symptoms of persistent cough, rash, fever, or any other symptoms of illness
  • Parent will be responsible for any days missed due to family illness

Responsibilities of Teachers:

  • Teacher will take their own temperature upon arrival and report to family
  • Teacher will wash hands upon arrival and will use hand sanitizer as needed
  • Teachers will have a mask easily and quickly available
  • Teacher will sanitize all materials before and after each use
  • Teacher will call HHMS Director immediately if they have a temp over 100 degrees, has been
    around anyone recently diagnosed with CoVid or influenza, or has any symptoms of persistent
    cough, rash, fever, or any other symptoms of illness
  • Teacher agrees to participate in all staff meetings, trainings and stay up to date on all
    certifications and CEU’s
  • will use positive discipline at all times and will communicate promptly with parents and
    director about any behavioral issues that need to be addressed

Responsibilities of Director:

  • Director will address any concerns regarding program content, delivery, and
    teacher/student/family relations
  • Director will either find a sub for an ill teacher or will make a reasonable effort to reschedule
    the missed session on the backend of the session due to the teacher’s illness. If no sub or
    rescheduling is possible, there will be $50 credit toward the family’s subsequent bill
  • Director will lead weekly Zoom staff meetings for all HHMS staff
  • Director will provide training opportunities for all HHMS staff
  • Director and Teacher will do a home-visit to help prepare the families before LL program
    begins
